Will you pray, proofread, promote and / or purchase for the Dagg Center as we seek to accomplish our mission to make good theological books and material accessible to the blind and visually impaired?

Pray

According to The Center for Disease Control, “more than 3.4 million (3%) Americans aged 40 years and older are either legally blind (having visual acuity of 20/200 or worse or a visual field of less than 20 degrees) or are visually impaired (having VA of 20/40 or less).” Please pray for us as we seek to provide good theological books and materials to those who are print disabled, as we strive to encourage and impact people with the good news of the gospel of Christ.

Proofread

In order to make books accessible to the blind and visually impaired we first scan the physical book and run the images through OCR (optical character recognition). Sited proofreaders then make any corrections the computer missed.

If you volunteer with the Dagg Center, not only will you be reading good theological books, but you will be enabling folks with print disabilities to do so as well. Check out our current projects page and contact us for more information on how you can help.

If you are a Dagg Center Proofreading Volunteer, you will be given access to a scanned PDF of a book. Use the Bookshare Proofreading Guidelines to make corrections to the corresponding RTF document.

Promote

You can help us by getting the word out. If you know of any blind or visually impaired family members or friends, point them to The Dagg Center Facebook page, as well as our Facebook group “Books for Blind Believers.” Share on social media and sign up for our newsletter.
